Dr. April D. Murdaugh the CEO and founder of Woman To Woman Financial. She specializes in assisting high-achieving women and business owners in creating a financial plan that outlines how to live the life they deserve.

Having experienced homelessness, widowhood, and divorce- losing everything three times in her life-she is deeply committed to aiding women in fortifying against setbacks and navigating life transitions to achieve financial prosperity.  

Dr. Murdaugh was a former college administrator and full-time professor of Business and Logistics. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. John’s University, a Master of Science in Management degree from Southern Wesleyan University, and a Doctor of Education degree from Nova Southeastern University.

Currently, she holds the position of past president at the Professional Women's Council, a division of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.  Additionally, she served as president of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisers-North Florida Chapter and is the Treasurer of the Women in Transportation-Northeast Florida Chapter.  

Furthermore, she has served as President of the American Business Women's Association-Orange Park Charter Chapter in 2019 and 2020 and was recognized as one of the Top Ten Women American Business Women in 2021.

In 2020, she was the Small Business Leader of the Year representing the Professional Women's Council of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce. In 2018 and 2019, she won Best Financial Adviser in Jacksonville, Florida by the BEST BOSS Association. 

In 2024, she was nominated as a Rising Star in Finance by the Jacksonville Business Journal and subsequently asked to apply for the Woman of Influence recognition by the Jacksonville Business Journal as well as the Leadership Jacksonville Class of 2025. 

She holds memberships in the American Business Women's Association-Orange Park Charter Chapter, the Rotary Club of Jacksonville, the Financial Planning Association Northeast Florida, the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, the Professional Women's Council, and the Estate Planning Council of Northeast Florida.  She is also an approved Purse Strings Professional.  

She is a mom to four wonderful adult children. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, music, exercising, kayaking, and hiking.

Shiya is our Financial Associate and Investment Advisor Intern, bringing over a decade of experience in finance. She holds the SIE and FL-215 Annuities & Life Insurance licenses and is currently pursuing the Series 65 license, demonstrating her dedication to expanding her expertise.

Shiya began her career at First Commerce Credit Union while studying accounting at Florida A&M University, gaining valuable experience in loan origination and investment banking. Renowned for her strategic insights and ability to build strong client relationships, she excels in helping emerging professionals achieve wealth creation and plan for early retirement.

In addition to her financial career, Shiya founded A Happy Monday Virtual Assistance, where she honed her business operations and management skills. Now returning to finance, she leverages her entrepreneurial experience and financial expertise to deliver exceptional client value and enhance performance.

Outside of work, Shiya enjoys reading, candle-making, attending cooking classes, and is continually pursuing advanced certifications.
